Almost everyone coins or uses expressions that make sense to only a few people. What word or phrase do you use most often that you have to explain the meaning of to others?

I just loved Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog and so when I saw the BUffy quotation meme go by, I thought, "Why not be a sheep?"

When you read this, post another Buffy quote in your own Livejournal. Let's see how long we can make it.

Willow: That was nifty!
Kennedy: You are a goddess.

free association creativity

I am home for the holiday and aside from a couple hiking trips planned, I have nothing on the books except to hang at home, read and relax.

In the continual development of my left/right brain creativity sources, I have been conscientiously trying new things, breaking out of my comfort zone, and even been spontaneous once or twice.

[info]joad77 once posted a "focus" request for lj friends to comment with a couple of sentences which he then turned into a short story for his lj friends. I thought I'd modify it and ask you, my lj friends, to play along if you so desire.

If you would like, please comment and provide anything from a simple, "yes, please" to a couple of words or sentence or whatever. I'll use your input, free associate with what I know about you, and turn it into some creative work - poem, story, verse, music, still life photo, or something. I'm not sure what form it will take - that's the fun!

Write up a "personal ad" for yourself that will make you sound as unappealing as possible, without making anything up or sounding like you're TRYING to make yourself sound unappealing.

40 year old (too old) professional woman with doctorate in chemistry (OMG, she haz a brane!11!!) seeks blackberry (economic qualification) relationship espousing the "work hard, play hard" (goodbye, slackers and couch potatoes) philosophy. Dabbling in eastern philosophy or do-it-yourself projects a plus (WTF?).

BOOKWORM:

1. Grab the nearest book
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 3 sentences on your blog along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.
6. Tag 5 people

your god is too small by J.B. Phillips

"It is a revelation of the true way of living, the way to know god, the way of life eternal, not the way to solve the world's problems. People who live "changed" lives (and pay the price for that change) naturally live in harmony with the world. Organized religion fails society because spirituality is primarily an INDIVIDUAL experience."
